Project Kick-off Meeting

The kick-off meeting of ClimaLAND Project was called to order at 12:00-14:30 EET on 12.11.2020 in Google Meet online platform by project PI Prof. Alfred Vespremeanu-Stroe, with the participation of the Consortium team leaders Bernd Etzlemuller (University of Oslo), Alexandru Onaca (West University of TimiÈ™oara), Tiberiu Sava (Horia Hulubei – National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering), key persons and members from all teams, gathering 21 participants.

The agenda included short presentations of the research teams by each partner, the presentation of the project by the Lead Partner: the aim and the objectives, all the activities and the methodology, and in-depth talks on the research issues to be tackled in the study areas of the project. A detailed presentation of the Romanian Carpathians setting, characteristics and existing results and monitoring network led the discussion towards the envisaged common research activities, involvement of project partners, expected results and publication plan. The research plan in the Danube Delta and the starting databases were presented, further focusing on the implication of the partners in both geochornology activities, remote sensing and climate analysis.

Additionally, joint study sites trips in 2021 and integration of in-situ database with the climate analysis were discussed, as first common working phases.

The Agenda for the next project meeting was set to include the Steering committee establishment, setting the internal rules governing the project, communication and visibility strategy, planning of research visits and young researchers stages (capacity and potential).

The Meeting was adjourned at 15:30 EET by Project Director Alfred Vespremeanu-Stroe. The next general meeting was set at 12:00 EET on 02.12.2020, in Google Meet platform.
