ClimaLAND is a joint research initiative of Geography and Geosciences teams from University of Bucharest, University of Oslo and West University of Timișoara with the technical input of the National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering “Horia Hulubei”, bringing together the work of 37 experienced scientists and young researchers. The project Consortium benefits from the prestigious experience of the Norwegian partner in cold environments evolution and also in climatic modelling and remote sensing. West University of Timișoara group is the leading Romanian research entity on periglacial geomorphology and has extensive expertise in glacial geomorphology. By the implication of the coastal and fluvial, landslides and mountain research sub-groups, the University of Bucharest provides expertise in Holocene coastal and fluvial landscape reconstruction, coastal morphodynamics and geoarchaeology, landslides and geohazards, permafrost and weathering.
