Joint fieldtrip in alpine and landslides study sites – September

A joint fieldtrip took place between September 10 and 19 2021, with the participation of UiO team, UVT and UB teams, and the contribution of Dr. Christin Hilbich, from Univ. of Fribourg, (Switzerland), who managed geophysical surveys. The purpose of the campaign was to get to know the study sites by the Norwegian partner, who also provided logistic support in terms of equipment. Measurements were performed in Retezat Mts (Galeșu rock glacier), Făgăraș Mts (Doamnei rock glacier) and Siriu dam landslide in the Curvature Carpathians. Multiple activities were accomplished, respectively topographic surveys by TLS and UAV which have the purpose of providing high accuracy digital elevation models of the landforms and start dynamics monitoring, seismic and electric resistivity measurements, completing sampling for surface exposure absolute and relative dating, recheck of ongoing thermal sensors. We benefited from the help of IGAV Bucharest, Ministry of Internal Affairs, who provided helicopter transportation to remote Galeșu rock glacier site, and the help of BsC students from UB and UVT, who actively joined.
